The 47th Annual Knoxville Nationals brings together the best of the best sprint car drivers from Australia, Canada, New Zealand and across the USA from coast to coast, border to border. This year the 120+ entrants will race for over $894,000 with the winner taking home $140,000.
The top drivers from both national series, the National Sprint Tour and World of Outlaws, will compete against the stars of local and regional series to become The Knoxville Nationals Champion. Key entries include Steve Kinser, 12 times Knoxville Nationals Champion and 20 times World of Outlaws Champion; Danny Lasoski, 4 times Knoxville Nationals Champion, 2001 World of Outlaws Champion, 2005 Texas Motor Speedway IROC Champion and winner of 88 main events at Knoxville Raceway; Terry McCarl, 6 times Knoxville Raceway Season Champion in his 2nd year on the road full time with the World of Outlaws. In 2004 Terry and Danny waged a head-to-head battle for the Nationals Title with Danny prevailing.
The $140,000 winner’s purse for the 30-Lap main event on Saturday is $9,333 per mile, the richest per-mile oval or road race in the USA.
