Nine of the most dominant personalities in motorsports race on the same track for the first time in the inaugural Race of Legends at the Rolex Monterey Historic Automobile Races, presented by Toyota. Collectively, the legendary drivers hold championships from nearly every level of racing, including Formula One, CART, Indy 500 and the 24 Hours of LeMans.
The field consists of:
• Bobby Unser – three-time winner of the Indianapolis 500
• Al Unser Sr. – Al, Bobby’s younger brother, had four Indianapolis 500 victories and three Champ Car Championships
• Johnny Rutherford –three-time winner of the Indianapolis 500, also won his first NASCAR start at Daytona International Speedway
• Bobby Rahal – the three-time CART Series Champion has won the Indianapolis 500 both as a driver (1986) and owner (2004)
• Parnelli Jones –1963 Indianapolis 500 winner and 1964 USAC stock car champion
• Emerson Fittipaldi –two-time Formula One champion with two Indianapolis 500 victories and an IndyCar World Championship
• Vic Elford –competed worldwide in all types of races, from Formula One to the 24 Hours of LeMans (class wins in 1967 and 1973)
• Derek Bell – five-time winner of the 24 Hours of LeMans and two-time World Sportscar champion
• Ove Andersson – former European Rally Champion and team owner
